Joy is a really tricky thing. It's fleeting, and it seems (in my experience) that the more I try to hold onto it, the more it wants to slip through my fingers.
But someone wise told me recently that joy is something we need to choose daily. It's a constant discipline that we should strive for, even when we're struggling—especially this time of the year. If you have tips or suggestions on the ways you find joy in your daily life, please share! I don't think there's a person alive that couldn't use more joy.
Monthly words to consider:
And again, Isaiah says,
“The Root of Jesse will spring up, one who will arise to rule over the nations; in him the Gentiles will hope.”
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
