Featured Client: Shoofly Java

At long last, downtown Oakland Maryland once again has a coffee shop — our CurlyRed client, Shoofly Java!

The Vagabond Taproom owners Pat & Michelle Hudnall decided to recently expand right next door to offer delicious and locally-sourced coffee, tea and craft sodas (along with handmade breakfast items and desserts)! A testament to the popularity of Vagabond and the real desire to have a coffee shop in the downtown area, Shoofly Java has been a hit since its soft opening in late November.

We were thrilled to once again help the Hudnulls create branding in the same style (but decidedly different) from Vagabond. The locomotive visual mark and earth-tone palette reflects the warmness of the lovely staff and coffee shop interior.

We took that branding and ran with creating a fully custom and responsive WordPress website (featuring our own photography), coffee sleeves, menu board and a to-go menu card. Our favorite part for the whole process was watching our junior designer Olivia create the hand-drawn coffee drink illustrations for the menu.
