November 2022: Let's give thanks.

Yes, I know, it's rather obvious.

But I love Thanksgiving. I love the food, I love the time with family and friends. And I love that it creates a time set apart to remember how blessed we are, the good things that have come, and how love and laughter are worth much more than material things.

I encourage you to try keeping a gratitude list, if you don't already do so. A place where you can come, when ever you're feeling worried or down, and jot down 10 or so things you are thankful for in that moment. It's a great practice that leads to more mindfulness and gratitude, and you can look back on the list anytime.

Enjoy the lyrics below from the song "Count Your Blessings" from my favorite holiday film, White Christmas. The message holds up all these years later.

_______

Monthly words to remember:

When I'm worried and I can't sleep
I count my blessings instead of sheep
and I fall asleep counting my blessings
when my bankroll is getting small
i think of when I had none at all
and I fall asleep counting my blessings.

—"Count Your Blessings" by Irving Berlin
