Social Media & In-Bound Marketing Workshop

Published: June 9, 2010

Here's an event you should attend, put on by my friends at Blue Ocean Ideas:

Things are changing drastically in technology and culture. The marketing implications are huge.

You don't need to feel lost.

In this all-day workshop, Blue Ocean Ideas will cover what's changing and why it's changing. We'll look at the tools and platforms that you can be (and should be) engaged with right now to reach your audience effectively.

You will leave with a firm grasp of all this "stuff" that seems to be making the world so complex and fast paced. We will present the information using easy to understand examples so you leave with knowledge you can use.

Session 1
We will look at the core of web 2.0 - what that means, where it came from, and why it matters in business. We'll talk about content publishing, content management systems, search engine optimization, online video, and more.

Session 2
This will be an in-depth analysis of social media. Everyone's talking about it. Not everyone knows what to do about it. There are no formulas - and that is exactly the point. We'll look at why social media is so powerful and what questions you should be asking to determine your social media engagement strategy. We'll also teach on the most popular and most effective tools available to you (for free!) today.

Session 3
This will be an overview of the future of mobile device usage. Things like smartphones (iPhones, Droids) and tablet devices (iPad, Kindle) are changing how we learn, how we live, and, as you will see, they are changing the very way our brains work. Your business needs to know what the future holds for mobile devices.

Session 4
This will be an insightful look at the role of in-bound marketing for your organization. Given all of the changes happening in the world, it is essential that you know how to be found whenever someone is looking for whatever it is that you do.

There will be plenty of opportunities for Q&A.

Happy Hour to follow for all participants.
