Step 2: Get Inspired! (Part 2)

Inspiration can come from anywhere, and we are always on the lookout for amazing work our fellow designers are creating.

But when thinking about redesigning our website, we were particularly interested in finding other websites that have a similar aesthetic to ours. And here are some of our favorites:

We love this site for the Renegade Craft Fair, which just happened last weekend in Chicago. The playfulness of the handwritten top banner and buttons fit perfectly with the imagery of the handmade goods the site features. The color palette, illustrations and wood panel background texture give it a vintage feel.

The site is for a design firm in Tennessee called Level 2 Design. Rarely does a website succeed in transporting the viewer to another place and time like this site does. We also think their portfolio is showcased quite nicely.

Ahhh...good old Design Sponge. This is, hands down, one of the best design blogs on the web. And the layout, while very simple, works perfectly for the abundance of content. The texture of each element and the layering style really gives a 3-dimensional feel to the whole site. Apparently, they are in the process of redesigning their site as well. We look forward to seeing what they come up with.

Last but not least, we think it's pretty obvious why we were drawn to this site of the Dallas Advertising Agency, Targetscope. Yes, we do have a deep love for all things pinup.
